Outside Caterers to Forty Hall

The Caterer.. Forty Hall operates a full in-house catering team, if you wish to bring outside caterers to the venue they should be on our approved Caterers list

Charges.. Hall Hire as follows This charge includes kitchen usage, and catering commission

Drinks or Drinks service
When you use an outside caterer Forty Hall Banqueting will provide all the drinks and drinks service for the event. If a cash bar is required a charge of £150 is made. A refund will be made for bar spends over £500

You are able to supply your own champagnes, wines and soft drinks and we will serve them charging a service charge per guest attending from £3.50 to £9.00 depending on the service required.
Please note you are not permitted to provide any beers or spirits

If you wish your caterer to serve only soft drinks there will be a charge of £2.00 per guest

External Suppliers..
Any external suppliers, such as DJ’s and florists need to be agreed by the Hall Manager prior to the event

Terms of payment (Prices include VAT)
A deposit of 50% of the room hire will be required to confirm a booking. Full payment of hall hire plus 50% of the catering should be made two months before the event date. The remaining 50% catering should be paid 10 days before the event together with final numbers.

Other Caterers

If you wish to use a caterer that it not on our list, you do so at entirely your own risk, and the following provisions apply;

The caterer must be registered with the local authority

They must hold a valid public liability for over £1 million and provide proof

There will be a £250 security and cleaning deposit payable by the caterer

The caterer must have a site visit of the venue


Catering Requirements

  1. Outside Caterers must provide staff dressed in appropriate uniforms and there must be a front of house manager to coordinate the day

  2. Forty Hall provides kitchen equipment, but not cooking utensils, linen, china, cutlery etc. These must be provided by your caterer (no disposables). No portable gas equipment is allowed. Electrical equipment can be brought in by arrangement only but must have a current PAT test certificate

  3. Forty Hall can seat a maximum of 180 guests for dinner with an additional capacity of 70 for evening guests giving an overall total of 250; unless other areas are created for additional seating (please note children are included in these numbers). Final floor plan is required 5 days prior to your event

  4. If you wish to change the set up from ceremony to dinner and dinner to dancing, the outside catering staff will have to rearrange the furniture under supervision from the Hall

  5. The caterers must ensure the Hall is left tidy at the end of the function, the kitchen will be checked in and out by the Manager on duty, and any further cleaning to be done if required. Any damage will be charged

  6. No confetti or spray string is permitted. Smoke or bubble machines are also not permitted. Nothing can be fixed to the internal or external walls, beams, pillars or light fittings. Florists or other decorators must provide their own ladders when working at Forty Hall and must provide decoration plans 10 days prior to the event and ensure decorations are removed before 9am the next day

  7. No furniture, glassware, crockery, cutlery or food may be taken outside the Banqueting Suite. Please note the patio and courtyard can be used but are to be considered part of the public park

  8. Music, provided by either a live band or DJ must finish before the hire period ends and guests must vacate the building within 30 minutes following the end of the function. Additional charges may be imposed if the caterer requires access to the venue outside the hire times. If the caterer or guests stay beyond the hall hire period there will be a charge of £200 per hour of part thereof to the hirer

  9. There is a noise monitor fitted that will cut all power to live and recorded music, should the pre-set sound level of 97 decibels be exceeded. Any damage caused to equipment caused by such a loss of power is not the responsibility of Forty Hall Banqueting Suite

  10. You will indemnify Forty Hall Banqueting in respect of any claims which may be made by any party arising out of your provision of catering services at the venue
