Sense and Sustainability
A green training & team building event at Forty Hall Banqueting
What On Earth Are We Doing?
Forty Hall Banqueting is helping create the climate for change and, in support of green awareness, is pleased to introduce “Sense and Sustainability” a proactive training and team-building event which is designed to promote awareness of social and environmental matters
This enjoyable and informative event raises awareness of the serious effects of climate change. Starting with the individual, it encourages businesses to take account of their economic, social and environmental impacts with an aim to supporting behavioural change, and recognition of their own corporate social responsibility.
“A fantastic event to learn a lot of new, practical and useful information about sustainability, and, at the same time, to create a strong sense of team building "
Benefits and Outcomes
“Sense and Sustainability” delivers positive results:
• Energises your business and motivates employees
• Encourages individuals to become environmentally-friendly
• Provides valuable lessons in clear communication and effective team work
• Highlights ways to make financial savings in the workplace and home by minimising waste
• Creates inter-team bonding in a challenging environment
• Stakeholders, customers and the community acknowledge the company’s environmental endeavours
Structure
The event begins with “What On Earth Are We Doing?”, an eyeopening
introduction, explained in clear and simple terms, to the
serious effects of climate change and the global threat to our planet.
Teams engage in a range of motivating, interactive challenges
conducted indoors and outdoors. Encouraged to think in sustainable
terms, teams earn Carbon Credits to offset their Carbon Emissions.
The team that has been most successful in reducing its Carbon Footprint
is declared the overall winner.
All abilities, ages and levels of company seniority can take part - a
degree of walking is involved, but the event is not highly physical.
What “Sense and Sustainability” Does
The event highlights the facts about climate change. By gaining an understanding into the causes and
effects of global warming, participants work in teams to consider the practical steps that can be taken to
make a difference to their impact on the environment. The importance of the three R’s are addressed:
Reduce
Reuse
Recycle
Being environmentally-aware leads the way forward for your business to make real “green” changes. The
knowledge and sustainable solutions the participants gain through the event can be positively applied to
work and home environments leading to a shared vision of becoming carbon neutral.
“I have only had positive feedback to the event. The most important points for me are that the event was enjoyable and teamwork within the company has improved noticeably since the event.”

knowledge of various sustainable issues.
